Another one of my favorate bikes of all time, the Honda CB550-4.
Fresh off my future father-in-laws truck after the trip back from Rockwood Honda. This was a 1974 model purchased in February of 1974. My first ever new motorcycle, she cost me $1360, at lot of change at the time.
Breaking in a new rider - Susan. This was about three years before we were married so I guess I didn't scare her too bad!
After a little accident up on 129 (it wasn't the Dragon at that time), I decided to do a Cafe Racer. Who would have thought that these are just now coming into style in the 21st century. At the time there was now parts available in the US so I ordered these parts out of Great Britain. The company built John Player racing parts for Nortons also. I also had the half fairing but unfortunaly no photos with it on the bike.
Engine was stock except for the Kurker 4-1 and a rejet.
I nice fun bike.
Reverted back for touring.
Parked at the "brown spot" on the road up to Murry gap on Chilhowee mountain
Keep on trucking!
I first place trophy for a road ralley through the backroad of blount county. Actually it was more line an Enduro where timed speed between checkpoints closest to but not exceeding the speed limit - which means a lot of the time you had to exceed it!
